Field Schools
The field schools listed in this document come recommended primarily by faculty or students. A more comprehensive list of all available field schools can be found at archaeological.org, the American Institute of Archaeology’s website. If you are looking for more information about a particular field school, feel free to contact us via email as we may be able to get you in touch with someone who has attended the field school.
When looking for field schools, keep in mind your future research goals and areas of interest. Also consider whether the field school offers academic credit, if this is something that is important to you. Think of developing relationships with the personnel there, who may help develop avenues of research for you and even help you get positions elsewhere!
Study Abroad Programs
Pitt has lots of study abroad programs, many with Anthropology focuses! These are just a few, but many students and alumni very much enjoyed them. Study abroad is an amazing experience that you can choose to fit your requirements and schedule by picking programs in the Fall, Spring, and Summer. You may also consider an exchange program, which are also listed on Pitt Study Abroad website: http://www.abroad.pitt.edu/. If you’re thinking about studying abroad, please contact the Advising Office and we may be able to put you in contact with someone who has been on the program you’re considering!
As with the fields schools, please reach out to us if you have any questions!
